I left my job in advertising. After 2.5 years at Leo Burnett and then a short run at Havas/Studio 6, I at last packed up and left Chicago. At least temporarily for now.
Now I am in a very small village in eastern France that you've probably never heard of. I've been invited here to stay for a couple months to be one of the six resident artists this year. Thanks to the French government, I am being paid/sponsored for the first time to solely work on my own art. It's an incredible privilege; too good to be true, honestly.
I just arrived yesterday evening, and amidst the fog appeared this quaint little town that looks straight out of a postcard. Here I will spend the next month with the luxury of having the time and space to develop my own work.
I'll be working on exploring video installation further. Specifically in the realm of projection mapping. It's open-ended still. I'll see where this goes.
